File Preparation Instructions for Printing
To ensure your files are print-ready and meet our standards, please follow the instructions below:
1. File Format
- Submit files in PDF, AI, or EPS format.
- Use CMYK color mode for accurate color reproduction.
- Ensure all images are at least 300 DPI resolution for clarity.
2. Bleed and Trim
- Add a 0.125 inch bleed (3.175 mm) on all sides of the artwork.
- Example: If your final trim size is 8.5" x 11", the document size with bleed should be 8.75" x 11.25".
- Keep all essential text and graphics at least 0.25 inches away from the trim edge to avoid accidental cutting.
3. Crop Marks
- Include crop marks to indicate where the design will be trimmed.
- Ensure crop marks are offset by at least 0.125 inches from the artwork to avoid overlapping with the design.
4. Fonts
- Embed all fonts in the file to prevent font substitution issues.
- Alternatively, convert all text to outlines or curves.
5. Images and Graphics
- Ensure all linked images are properly embedded in the file.
- Avoid using RGB or low-resolution images, as they may print poorly.
6. Safe Zone
- Design within a safe zone of at least 0.25 inches inside the trim size to prevent critical elements from being trimmed.
7. Layers and Transparency
- Flatten all layers and transparencies to avoid unexpected results during printing.
8. Proofing
- Double-check for spelling, grammar, and layout errors.
- Submit a hardcopy proof or a soft proof PDF for approval if required.
